Connie Feist, Owner
I began running marathons after my son was born fifteen years ago and have competed at the 26.2 mile distance over 30 times since. Running has become an important part of my life; and while it has certainly improved my health, it has also become my stress reliever and has helped be become a better mom, wife, friend and community member. Throughout my years of running I have met incredible athletes, made some of my best friends and experienced some of my most cherished memories. I viewed the opening of Mile One in February 2010 as a way to give back to the sport and the running community from which I have benefitted so much and been so blessed.
As we celebrate the second anniversary of Mile One- I am grateful for the support, encouragement and response that our shop has received. It is humbling to look back over the past couple years and think of all the runners, walkers, fitness enthusiasts, elite athletes, rehab patients and couch potatoes that have walked through our doors.
The success of the shop is directly attributed to having the most knowledgeable, caring and experienced sales staff imaginable. Each staff member at Mile One is at a different phase in their running career and each has a different perspective on the sport. They are all dedicated to providing unparalleled customer service and a personalized experience that can’t be found elsewhere.
As we embark on our third year we are excited about the future and are enthusiastic about providing the highest quality shoes, apparel, nutrition and injury prevention products for our customers. We look forward to continuing to organize group runs, develop training programs, support local races, welcome new runners into the community and provide encouragement and advise for people from all walks of life and fitness levels.
Thank you for supporting our shop and helping make Mile One the trusted resource center it has become. |

Reece Vega, Asst. Store Manager
Born and raised in Minnesota where I started my running career. It all started when my parents made me pick a sport to participate in during the summer. They wanted to get me out of the house and they gave me the choice of either track or swimming. My fear of getting into cold water easily made my decision and ever since then I haven’t stopped running.
Since then, I attended and graduated from North Dakota State University. While at NDSU I was able to become a Division II All-American as well as Division I Independent National Champion in Track & Field. I graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration and moved to Minot to continue my education.
Currently, I am the Assistant Track & Field Coach at Minot State University and have been for the last 3 years. I also graduated from Minot State with a Masters in Business Management and a Masters Certificate in Knowledge Management. |

Kellie Meyer
I began my running career as high school student by participating in cross country and track. I was never a fast runner, and in fact, had the experience of coming in dead last in the 1600M and 3200M runs in track frequently. However, I never gave up. When I began college at Minot State University, I ran a few times a week to relieve stress and stay in shape. At the end of my freshman year, I noticed a flyer for Minot's Trestle Valley Marathon and decided to set my sights on finishing my first 13.1 mile race. After finishing that race, I became hooked. Since then, I have run over 15 half-marathons and three full marathons, with the next being Boston in April 2012.
Running plays a huge part in my life. It has made me appreciate the ability of the human body and has also made me believe that with hard work, you can do anything. Not only do I enjoy my own running, but I enjoy inspiring others to run as well. My dad had gastric bypass surgery nearly 6 years ago, losing almost 250 pounds. Prior to this weight loss, he expressed how much he wished he could run like me. Last year, he completed his first half-marathon, something he never believed he could do. My husband Mitch, who prior to meeting me had never enjoyed running, now runs 5k races frequently and keeps improving with each race. It is the passion of seeing other runners succeed in their goals and share their experiences that has brought me to Mile One. I love helping people find the right gear to reach their goals and enjoy their sport to the fullest as well as having the opportunity to not only share my knowledge and experiences, but learn from each individual who walks in the door.
In my spare time aside from running and working at Mile One, I am a Master's student working on my school counseling degree. I enjoy spending time with my husband Mitch and mini-dachshund Brutus, spending time with friends, watching tv and movies, traveling, and helping coach the elementary and high school cross country programs in Rugby. |
